What is Life? By: Charles Smith
A Siren’s Call
Frees us of strife. Returns our wonder, Gives us hope. The outside gives rations, False promises, Steals our hope. Be this Hell or an Eden? Are we home or guests? The Siren’s call and the Devil’s gifts Blur our already dimmed lines. We are reminded of our strife, Our fog lifts and we see. Under duress, Under control, |
We see light,
We see clearly, Yet the lines are still blurred. Is it love? Is it forced? Or is it freed? Be it beautiful, Or the hell we’ve known? Sinner or Saint? Lover or Idol? Love or Lust? Friend or Foe? Ally or Enemy? What are we? What are they? What is Life? |
